Guido Barbujani: "We’re all African"
The Evolution and Culture lecture series offered by B·Debate and Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB) continues, open to the general public. Italian professor and writer Guido Barbujani will give a lecture entitled We the Africans: eight points to remember about human diversity on 28 October at 7:30 pm.
According to Barbujani, the history of human evolution reveals that we’re all African. How important is genetics to our identity? What do we now know about our biological relationship with other individuals and populations around the world? How can that help us understand and cure diseases and improve our quality of life? During the debate at the CCCB, Guido Barbujani will give key points to better understand the relationship between genetics and human biodiversity. Cristina Junyent, director of the Science in Society Foundation, will moderate the event.
The Evolution and Culture lecture series began on 19 October with a conference by US biologist Jared Diamond on risk and danger in traditional societies.
