This domain contains all the organizational and executive information regarding B·DEBATE International Center for Scientific Debate Barcelona, an initiative of Biocat.
Biocat, la Fundació BioRegió de Catalunya, as the body responsible for the website, hereinafter referred to as Biocat, provides users with this document in order to comply with the obligations established in 34/2002, of 11 July, on Information Society Services and E-Commerce (LSSICE), BOE Nº 166, and to inform website users of the conditions of use. Anyone who visits this website takes on the role of a user, undertaking to observe and comply rigorously with the rules set out herein, as well as any other legal regulations that may apply. Biocat, la Fundació BioRegió de Catalunya, reserves the right to modify any type of information that may appear on the website, with no obligation to warn or make users aware of said changes, as it shall be sufficient to post them on the website of Biocat.
2. Purposes
In accordance with the aforementioned regulations, Biocat hereby notifies users that any personal details submitted through the forms on this website are collected for the purposes of managing registration for the debates that make up the B·DEBATE program of activities, as well as for sending out communications and information on activities or programs that may be of interest to the user by any electronic means.
Furthermore by accepting this condition you authorise Fundación Bancaria ”la Caixa” to transfer your personal data to companies and organisations that form part of Grupo Fundación Bancaria ”la Caixa”, so that they may send you information about the products and services these companies and organisations offer. You confirm that you have accessed the Management Report and Annual Accounts of the Grupo Fundación Bancaria ”la Caixa” on their website www.obrasociallacaixa.org, which details the companies and organisations that form part of the Grupo Fundación Bancaria ”la Caixa”.
Nevertheless, the user may decline receive such communications at any time by notifying Grupo Fundación Bancaria ”la Caixa” in the manner established in the legal disclaimer below.

The design of this website and its source code, as well as any logos, brands and other distinctive signs that appear herein, are the property of Biocat and therefore protected by any and all corresponding intellectual and industrial property rights.

Nevertheless, in compliance with articles 11 and 16 of the LSSICE, Biocat shall be available to all users, authorities and law enforcement, collaborating actively to remove or, if necessary, block any contents that may affect or infringe on national or international law, the rights of third parties or moral codes and public order. If users consider any of the content on the website to fall under this category, they are asked to please make it known immediately to the website administrator.
This website has been reviewed and tested to make sure it works properly. In theory, it should work properly 24 hours a day, 356 days a year. However, Biocat cannot rule out the possibility that there may be certain programming errors or that circumstances of force majeure, natural catastrophe, strikes or similar could make it impossible to access the website.
6. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
Any conflicts or disputes that may arise in the interpretation of the terms and conditions of this legal disclaimer, or any issues associated with the services provided by this website, shall fall under the jurisdiction of Spanish Law.
PRIVACY POLICY:
1. User consent
By filling out and submitting the forms on this website, the user expressly accepts and consents to their personal details being handled automatically by Biocat.
Biocat hereby notifies and expressly ensures users that the personal data provided will under no circumstances be transferred to third parties and that if any such transfer of personal details were to arise, Biocat would request express, informed, unequivocal consent beforehand from the users to which the details pertain. The data shall be saved as long as the mutual interest for which they were collected remains and, when said purpose no longer exists, they shall be deleted with the proper security measures to ensure the pseudonymization of the data or their total destruction.
The user declares that all information provided is true and correct, and undertakes to notify Biocat of any changes that may occur in said data.
Some of the information requested by Biocat is obligatory, as these details are necessary to provide optimal service to the user. If the user does not provide all of these details, Biocat cannot ensure that the information and services provided will fully meet their needs. Biocat notifies users when details are obligatory and/or necessary for the proper functioning of the service.
Additionally, if users submit personal details regarding a third party through the forms on this website, they must first obtain said party's consent and inform them of the contents of the paragraphs above.
Biocat reserves the right to take photographs and video recordings of the events and activities it organizes. By accepting this legal disclaimer in registering for these events, participants are expressly providing prior authorization and consent to Biocat to use any images of the user participating in an event organized by Biocat to broadcast in a live feed, record on video or disseminate openly, in accordance with the right to one's own image, as established in Article 18 of the Spanish Constitution, and the right to honor, personal and family privacy and one's own image, as established in Organic Law 1/1982, of 5 May.
Nevertheless, the user may decline to be recorded and photographed at any time by notifying Biocat in the manner established in the legal disclaimer below.
2. Security
In accordance with current data protection regulations, Biocat complies with all provisions of the GDPR regarding the handling of the data under its custody, and expressly with the principles described in article 5 of the GDPR, which are handled legally, faithfully and transparently with regard to the party to which they pertain and restricted to the proper, pertinent and strictly necessary handling for the purposes for which they were provided.
Biocat ensures it has implemented appropriate technical and organizational policies to apply the security measures established in the GDPR in order to protect the rights and freedoms of users and has duly notified them of the information necessary to exercise them.
3. Applicable law and jurisdiction
Right to revoke consent at any time. Right to access, correct, delete, request portability or limitation, or oppose to the handling of their data. Right to file a claim with the competent supervisory authority (agpd.es) if they consider the handling of personal data is not in line with current regulations.
