Connecting the Growing Brain. Understanding Neuropaediatric Diseases

It is estimated that up to 20% of children and teenagers could suffer of neurological and psychiatric affections, and as it is one of the most complex fields of human biology, the continue growing and change only add difficulty. Traditionally diseases have been classified from a collection of symptoms and with just a little focus on the pathophysiology, as a consequence disease which share neurobiological mechanisms, as epilepsy and neuropsychiatric alterations, have been considered completely different entities.

In the present meeting, co-organized by B·Debate and the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital, scientific leaders in different aspects of neurobiology and other sciences will coincide. Mainly it will address the relation between the synaptic dysfunction in neuropediatric disorders, at the same time which emphasis will be put in the actual state of the art of different disciplines which englobe brain study and neurological diseases, in order to connect clinical, scientific and educational approaches of actual infantile neurology. In the event, there will be given the bases to reach a more precise an realistic view of pathophysiology, at the same time that it aims to be a point of innovative ideas exchange and stimulation just to start working in the establishment of new classifications and future therapies.
