How Mind Emerges from Brain: a View into the Future

Neuroscience is a new discipline devoted to the systemic understanding of functions contained in the brain, like sensations, motor functions, learning, memory, attention, pleasure, reward, decision-making and emotions.

In recent years, neuroscience has experienced an important transformation thanks to scientific breakthroughs like the development of high-resolution medical imaging technology to study brain structure and activity, as well as the application of new molecular tools.

The aim of these debate sessions, coorganized by B·Debate together with the CRG and the IDIBAPS, is to share knowledge and integrate recent findings on neuronal systems for processing information, from different biological, technological, mathematical and computational viewpoints, in order to combine them and obtain a broader, more complete view of the state of the art in systems neuroscience.
