Neuroregeneration. Is it the common frontier for Bioengineering, Robotics and Neurorehabilitation?

Scientific breakthroughs in neuroregeneration over the past two decades have heightened expectations. The question being asked by both clinical professionals and people affected is no longer whether or not the new techniques to restore functions lost due to neurological injury will be possible, but when they will be available and what they will offer. 

These scientific debates, jointly organized by B·Debate and Institut Guttmann, aim to share advances in the latest neuroregeneration therapies and discuss how to repair and improve the prognosis for spinal cord injuries, how to combine therapies based on neurorehabilitation with brain stimulation to get treatments that can reverse brain damage, and how to optimize the nervous system’s own regenerative ability. All of these approaches will be debated over two days by twenty of the most prestigious researchers in the world in this area of neuroscience.

The sessions will feature clinical experts from various transdiciplinary disciplines, form neurology and neurorehabilitation, and researchers form various areas like bioengineering, neurobiology, robotics and neuroprosthetics.

As a springboard for the scientific debates, the XXV Institute Guttmann Technical Workshop, which this year is entitled "Neuroregeneració. On som? Què hem d'esperar" (Neuroregeneration: Where are we? What can we expect?), will be held on 22 October. This workshop is open to the general public and will feature a debate among four international experts and, afterwards, the presentation of the book "Niños con traumatismo craneoencefálico. Guía para padres" (Children with traumatic brain injury. A parents’ guide). Registration free of charge.
